Hi friends,
A lot has happened in the last 6 months! First, I had total knee replacement in both knees, 7 weeks apart. The surgery and healing process really sapped my creativity and it was a slow process getting it back! Kate and I left the gallery/studio space in Atascadero and have a new location in Paso Robles that is working/teaching space only. We are loving it! I moved all of my equipment and tools into the new studio so I can now paint, fuse glass, work in titanium and make jewelry all in one location. I moved one load at a time with the help of John and Brandon and was able to arrange everything step by step. It was fun being able to re-organize and go through things as I found a place for them. (I just need to remember where I put everything!) There are still somethings left in our garage and I will gradually bring them up. I had tried repeatedly to do a large acrylic painting after the knees - what a disaster! After painting the entire canvas over 4 times, I just let it sit with the last ugly version staring me in the face everyday! I didn't want anyone to see it and think that that was all I was capable of!!!! Finally, I figured out what was bothering me so much (I knew it was only a start but...) It was too tight and dare I say precious? Well I am now very close to being finished - just a few touch ups and tweeks. It has a strong pop art and almost cartoonish feel but I really am liking it, at last!

What you have going now is my dream work space. No more hauling stuff from upstairs to down, vice verse, nor from room to room. Congrats! Looking forward to seeing your new space in the near future! :)

So glad to hear you're getting settled. I need to know where the studio is I forgot what you said when we saw each other. I have no doubt about your creativity. I've always said, when I grow up I want to paint just like you ❤️

Congratulations on surviving knee surgery! So glad you are HAPPY NOW, and getting creative in your new space.....(I have not gotten "back" yet, but we are enjoying life, mostly. When the furnace, air conditioner, and septic tank behave. Think of you often, and wish you the best.....Stay sane in this crazy season...
