I want to explain why I haven't kept people notified about events and why I haven't always been open during posted hours.
2019 was a year of health issues and challenges in my family. My husband was diagnosed with throat cancer and underwent 6 weeks of concurrent chemo and radiation treatments. On the last day of radiation he fell and broke his hip which required hip replacement just as all the side effects of chemo and radiation were hitting him full force! He was in the hospital for 3 weeks and then in a rehab facility for another 3 weeks. He was home for 3 days, when he fell again and broke 4 ribs and punctured his lung which turned into a Hemothorax. Another 3 weeks in the hospital and 3 more weeks in rehab. When he was home and trying to recover from all of that, he fell again and had a hairline fracture in his hip which took a month in a wheelchair to heal before he could walk again. After months of doctors ignoring his condition, we finally were sent to a Neurologist who then referred us to Stanford's Neuroscience department. They informed us that the chemo that he received had totally destroyed the nerves in his feet and partially in his hands and nothing could be done.
This was our "new normal", we adapted and I was able to get to the studio/gallery. Oh - but I'm not finished!!! Two weeks ago he had a cerebral stroke and now he is in Acute Rehab to try and get what little balance he had back. And now we have this crazy Covid-19 panic hitting so.....
my NEW hours are: when I am there or call for an appointment.
My latest painting expresses how I feel about all of this! It is titled "Let Them Fly"
